  • Proposed improvements to diaper design based on infant body geometry (Kimberly-Clark).
  • Learned to use a CT scanner and to implement it in healthcare product validation (General Electric Healthcare).

What do BME co-ops have to say about their experience?

“These challenging projects gave me the chance to be creative and also network with countless people in the science/engineering field.  In addition, I was able to experience a real working environment and understand what companies ideally look for in a potential employee.  Ultimately, this co-op experience at UTMB has given me a better grasp of my path in BME, and most importantly, it has opened my eyes to the many opportunities and realities in my future career.” – Lena Dixit, UT Medical Branch
