Engineering Career Assistance Center Co-op Registration
ECAC Home >> Students >> Co-op Program >> FAQ >> Co-op Registration

Only students who have applied to the Co-op Program and have accepted a job are eligible to register for the co-op course.

ROSE
Registering through ROSE maintains full-time in-residence status at UT-Austin while employed on a co-op semester.  All campus privileges and authorizations are retained as follows:

  • Validation and use of student ID card
  • Use of campus libraries, computer resources, student health center, etc.
  • Eligibility to purchase a Longhorn All-Sports Package
  • Residence in campus dorms if employment is in Austin
  • Registration for an additional class at UT-Austin while co-oping

Each co-op student who registers through ROSE is charged for the course tuition and the incidental fee for the co-op course plus all other required fees that apply to regular registration at UT.  Approximate cost for each co-op semester is $1100 (depending on if you pay in-state or out-of-state tuition).

Correspondence
This option for co-op registration was developed to reduce costs for students.  Students who register through this option are still considered students at UT but lose in-residence status and all related benefits while on their co-op semester.  This includes all campus privileges outlined above.

Students who register through Correspondence are still considered to be full-time students. The Co-op Office can verify full-time student status for financial aid lenders or health insurance providers. Cost for this registration is a flat fee of $430 per work semester.
